Yopparai wo Hirotta Kanojo to Ibukuro wo Tsukamareta Otoko Oneshot

If you are looking for Yopparai wo Hirotta Kanojo to Ibukuro wo Tsukamareta Otoko Oneshot you are coming to the right place. Yopparai wo Hirotta Kanojo to Ibukuro wo Tsukamareta Otoko is a Webnovel created by 綾崎オトイ. This lightnovel is currently completed.

I found a person collapsed at the roadside. It’s a man with a good physique. A human man collapsed face down.

This man who’s most likely a drunkard, I would normally just pa.s.s by without stopping. The reason I decided to pick this man up today was that he was lying in front of the entrance of my house. Moreover, his face is considerably familiar to me. Although I say that, I wouldn’t say that we are acquaintances. I recognize him only to the degree of seeing him from afar, but we are more or less colleagues…… is that fine to say? Well, we are people from the same workplace, so I can’t just throw him out.

With just such reason, I decided to pick him up after confirming whether he’s alive or not. I instantly regretted though. The man was smelling of sugary liquor. This man, it appears he drank quite a lot. …… Well, he wouldn’t be collapsed here if that wasn’t the case. The people of the Order are eager to drink after all.

My profession is that of the so-called Knight. Strictly speaking, it’s slightly different, but there’s no doubt that I work at the Knights Order. It should be fine to cla.s.sify myself as a Knight. The man whom I’m carrying on my back is also one of the Knights. He should be quite powerful. Most of the Knights are sharing a room in the Knights Order boarding house. Because of my job, I remember most of the faces and names of the Knights of the Knights Order. I remember quite a lot of people outside the Knights Order too. That’s why I recognized this man who I’m not acquaintances with. Because of that, I end up picking up many needless things though.

Seriously, I’m pretty much a woman, you know? Do you think I could lift this giant of a man if I didn’t train my body? Why was he collapsed here in the first place? The boarding house should be in the opposite direction from the bar where the Knights go to drink.

For now, I threw the unnecessarily large man on top of the bed in my room. It didn’t seem he would fit on the sofa in the living room after all. I would be troubled if he caught a cold, so I will put a blanket over him. I’ll also prepare water on the bedside. It’s embarra.s.sing to say about a girl’s room, but my house is an empty, tasteless house. Even if you search, you won’t find anything troubling in my room. I can leave him without worries. I decided to stay on the sofa in the living room. I prepare a herbal tea on the side table and wrap my body in a blanket. I look like almost like a bagworm, but the blanket is comfortable and feels nice on touch.

The man woke up the next day while I was almost done preparing the breakfast. The man making a stupid face looked at me and froze in place with his mouth open wide. What a rude fellow.

「…… Why are you here……? Just where is this…… surely not…… one-night stand? Is this a one-night stand? Have you used your poisonous fangs on me……」

He let out this as soon as he opened his mouth. He looks down and checks his body in panic and then breathes out in relief. What is with those actions? What a rude fellow.

「Sorry to say, but I didn’t keep you company, I also have no interest in you. I will let you eat breakfast, so quickly get going after that」

I will be troubled if he stays any longer. While sighing good grief, I finished preparing the breakfast and sat at the table. I also point at the seat opposite of mine. But still, he isn’t moving. He’s staring at me while making a dumbfounded face. What a foolish face for a Knight.

「You, are you really the infamous devilish queen, Ethel Grantie……?」

He’s a man who keeps on saying rude things.

「Indeed, I certainly am Ethel Grantie, but?」

Quickly sit down. The breakfast will cool down. Why are there so many useless rumors going about although I’m not trying to get involved? Well, the cause is surely because of that insane boss of mine. My boss, how to say this, is an insane, perverted man who expresses himself with only a few words. Well, there’s no need for a detailed explanation. When that man comes out in topic, my mood turns bad.

The man finally took a seat in the silence. Knight Astro Orbit. He who is quite powerful is an ordinary just Knight. Wielding his sword to fight the enemy as a Knight is a suitable occupation for him. On the opposite, I’m a Knight too, but the contents of my work are a little different from ordinary Knights. Naturally, this Astro and many other people from the Order don’t know, but well, it’s irrelevant at the moment.

I confirmed that Astro sat down on the chair and set my hands on the breakfast. What I prepared today is a mouth melting bread, vegetable potage, and a potato salad with a fruit called Uko which is said to be good for hangovers. And a citrus jelly for the desert. Un. It came out nicely.

It can be said that cooking is my sole hobby. Rather, it might be okay to say that that I put too much effort in cooking because there wasn’t anything else that caught my interest. It can’t be helped because I remember a new recipe everytime I go outside for work. Because I got my hands on them as the extension of my work, I tried making the real things before long.

After looking at me for a while, Astro has begun carefully eating the food. What? I made a hangover menu because of you and you think there’s poison inside or something? I’m not holding that much interest for you. Quickly eat up and leave. Because I can’t overlook leaving leftovers, gulp it down at once. Eat fast while savoring the taste.

Astro slowly tasted the soup while being urged by my silence. Is it my imagination that his hand was slightly trembling? Isn’t that too pathetic for a Knight? Gulp, when his throat moves while I’m observing him, Astro began staring at my face. Almost like a rookie Knight who was praised by his demonic instructor.

「Delicious……」

I can’t accept his wondering face, but it’s only natural that my food is delicious. I don’t mind praising myself. It’s the truth after all. It’s my proud dish that takes time and effort. It’s because I only spend my time on cooking when I’m not working. I don’t intend on losing to chefs from anywhere. It’s quite valuable for you to eat my cooking, you know? I don’t invite acquaintances to my house that much after all. One reason is that there are not many people whom I can call friends though.

「If it suits your tastes, eat up quickly and leave」

My mood became better that a while ago. It was a troublesome find, but well, I wouldn’t mind doing this from time to time.

Is what I thought, but that man has appeared in front of my house again and again for some reason. The day I started treating him for a meal every time wasn’t that far.

Nightwing 7 Chapter 7

If you are looking for Nightwing 7 Chapter 7 you are coming to the right place. Nightwing is a Webnovel created by Bruce_Hickman. This lightnovel is currently ongoing. A small town in the western part of the world, well known for its lack of Vampiric activity, is the most recent chosen hiding place of the mother of the Vampirics with her protector by her at all times. She studies over her spell book, memorizing the most powerful of her spells, including the one spell that could give her a little more time in the upcoming confrontation with her most hated son. The thought of using this particular spell did not sit well with her and she hoped she would not have to use it, as it left her drained of most of magical energy.

The only thing she could hope for short of an act of G.o.d was that her son would not find her before the others found him. That would not be the case, as she would soon discover the town she resided in was well known to Nightwing and he was not far behind her. If he had his way about it, he would soon possess the spell book and the one thing he truly wanted. He was determined to get it no matter what the cost.

Nightwing landed just outside of the town where his mother was hiding. He had let his mother think that she was always one step ahead of him but in reality he had been leading her here to this town. He had finally managed to get what he wanted; a final confrontation with his mother and this town was where it was all going to be decided. This was were the fate of the world was going to be determined. He knew only one of two things could happen, now he would kill her and possess the book or she would kill him and the world would be safe. To be sure that he was the victor, he had chosen this town and had been preparing it for years for this battle. He knew every inch of this town and all the people who lived there were either in debt to Nightwing or had been scared into working for him. He left nothing to chance or so he had thought.

Hawk, Savirion, Natalia and Soltaker landed a few miles outside of the town. They had received a letter from Angel a couple of days ago, saying that they were going to make a stand against Nightwing and that they would need their help. The letter also told of some unexpected help from a small village of tree people, one of whom was seeking Nightwing for the destruction of their home, but these were no ordinary warriors. They possessed a sword from a Vampiric, a very special sword of caltamara. They weren't entirely sure of just how they managed to come into the possession of the sword or how they were able to summon it but they could and they were going to be a very big a.s.set in the days to come.

They knew this could be their last chance to stop Nightwing and it was now or never sort of deal. There was no way that they were going to allow Nightwing to come into control of the spell. They knew they had to stop him, they only hoped that they had arrived in time to help.

Nightwing folded his wings around and called forth a spell of shadow to mask his true ident.i.ty. He strolled into town on foot, disguised as a traveler seeking shelter for the night. He was treated as all travelers were treated, given the same gruff looks, the same poor att.i.tude, that is until the gold started to flow from his pockets into the hands of the people he met. Soon he was treated like royalty around the township. He was offered the finest goods and the best women but none of this interested him. He sought only information about two women, one young and pleasing to the eye and the other with feathery wings and golden skin. It didn't take long to find out they were staying at the only inn the town had and that they were out for the day picking herbs and purchasing goods from the local merchants.

The band of travelers came into town on horseback. They had used magic to disguise their looks in order to keep a low profile and allow them to find out what they needed to know without arousing suspicion. As they soon discovered, that was not going to be easy or cheap. They had to spend half their gold to get the information they needed but that was only the beginning of their troubles. When they arrived at the inn to get a room for the evening, they could smell the sent of their brother. He had been there most recently and with the persuasion of a few gold pieces, they had found out that he had rented a room on the top floor of the Inn. They did the only thing they could do in spite of the situation and rented the last two rooms in the Inn.

"All right, we have two rooms and four people. So how are we going to work this out?" Hawk asked of the group.

"Well, here's an idea. Why don't Savirion and Soltaker take one of the rooms and you and I can take the other room." Natalia responded and Savirion gave a small sly smile at Soltaker and said,

"Hawk and Natalia in the same room together without supervision? Why I'm surprised at you Natalia and here I thought you and Hawk weren't romantically involved. In fact, if I remember right, you just about flipped out when you thought that Hawk was drinking the elixir of life." Natalia became a little red with embarra.s.sment at the comment that Savirion made and quickly responded with a rather snide remark about Savirions father having more in common with Billy goats than with the human race. The others laughed a hearty laugh at the expression on Savirions face. With the problem of the rooms solved for now, they sat down at one of the tables of the common room and began to discuss the Nightwing situation with an air of tension about them.

While they were discussing their plans, Nightwing was beginning preparations for his. He had managed to purchase a very special sword from a lady blacksmith, who had been working on the weapon for some time now and finally managed to craft a sword that could penetrate the flesh of a Vampiric. It was not yet complete though, it needed to be blessed against magic so that the blade could not be damaged or destroyed by magic. Nightwing was in the process of studying the blessing spell that she had given him to make the weapon impervious to magical attack. It also gave the weapon an advantage over a Vampiric using the sword of caltamara, a blade of pure magic. He knew that with this blade, he could do the one thing that would allow him to defeat any Vampiric in battle. He could cut the blade of caltamara in two leaving the Vampiric defenseless.

Nightwing completed his study and set out to gather the necessary components for the spell and after many false starts, he found a shop that carried everything he needed for his spell of blessing. The components cost him the last of his gold but he didn't care. He had everything that he needed and he was ready to cast the spell completing the blades power. There was only one thing that he could not change. He had to wait for nightfall and it was only midday. The spell must be performed under a full moon and there was a full moon on this night according to the local growers. They called it the harvest moon, the brightest moon of the year and the perfect moon to cast the spell by.

The shop owner waited until Nightwing had gone from sight and then slipped out the back, down the alley to the Inn where the others were still debating the best way to go about stopping Nightwing. The discussion had become heated when the shopkeeper walked in and straight over to their table. They all stopped mid-sentence and turned to look at the shopkeeper.

"Yes, is there something we can do for you?" Hawk asked.

"No, but I can help you." He said matter-of-factly.

"OK and just how do you propose to help us when you don't even know what it is we need help with or even if we need help at all."

"Simple, you are Vampirics with the exception of the lady who just so happens to be a Vampiress. You are here to stop Nightwing from killing your mother, taking the spell book she carries and using the spell written in the blood of the demon to take over the world. Now, if I'm wrong, then please forgive me and get back to your arguing. But since I don't think that I am, you might want to hear what I have to say."

"OK, so maybe you might be able to help, so what is it that you can help us with?"

"I know Nightwing plans to defeat you. He bought some supplies from my shop a few minutes ago. I recognized the supplies for a special magic inhibiting spell that would make your caltamara blades useless against him."

"And how do you know this?" The shopkeeper told the group everything he knew about the sword and about the spell. He also told them where they could find their mother and the one they called Angel. He told them everything he could possibly think of about the town and how it had been manipulated and changed over the years. He also told of Nightwing's plan and how he was going to defeat the group and take over the town first and then the surrounding area little by little. He plans to control the world and enslave humanity. He feels humans are good for nothing more than food and slave labor, that all Vampirics should not have to work and that they should be the masters of the earth. He is going to kill everyone who opposes him and there is nothing that we can do. That thought alone scared the h.e.l.l out of shopkeeper.

Hawk and the others stood in silence for many moments listening to the shopkeeper and realizing that they had been led into the trap that they feared was waiting for them. They felt more or less confident in the fact that they now had an upper hand against Nightwing, they knew what he planned! Natalia was the first to break the deafening silence. "We should try to find a way to lure him out of here so that the fight will be more to our advantage than his."

"And then what? We defeat him and realize that to do so, we had to sink to his level. No thank you. I would rather prove to him that even with all his planning that in the end, he could not win." The group left the little shop in search of their mother. The shopkeeper had been only half-right about where they could find the pair. They found Anecetus but not Angel.

"Mother, I'm so glad to see you after all this time." Hawk said.

"Hawk, my boy, is that you? Where have you been all this time? I have been worried about you. I was afraid that you had been killed by your brother but it is good to see that you have not and that you are well." She replied with joy in her voice and a tear in her eye.

"I may have not been defeated by Nightwing as of yet and I don't plan on being defeated by him. He will never possess the spell in that book so long as there is a G.o.d in heaven. There will always be a Vampiric to stop him or die trying." Hawk told his mother of the events that have unfolded over the past few years and of his discovery of the true nature of the spell book. He also told her of the things that had been shown to him in his visions and he knew that the only way to defeat Nightwing was to use the spell book.

He would have to cast the spell in the book but he was afraid to do this, as it would surely mean the end of his way of life. His mother managed to quell his fears and told him if a secret she had been keeping for more that five thousand years, she wanted to die. She needed to die, her life was nothing. She had only realized that eternal life has its limits. After her son began to hunt her, she had not created any new Vampirics in a thousand years and she had not aged in twice as long. She had been forgiven by the lord and her beauty was restored but she must be killed by her own brethren for she was still invincible to the weapons of mortals. Only a Vampiric could give her what she wanted. This bothered Hawk and the others more than they allowed their faces to show but she knew that she had told them something that they did not want to hear. There was only one who could fulfill her wish and she was going to have a hard time keeping Hawk and the others out of the picture.

There weren't to many things left that she could do so she decided to do the one and only thing that she could do. She was going to cast a sleep spell on Hawk and the others. The spell would last only a few minutes but it was all the time she needed to complete her plans. She sat down in front of her spell book and began to read, saying the arcane words under her breath so that the others could not here her. When she finished the group began to feel drowsy and weak.

Soon sleep was upon them and Anecetus began to work quickly. She closed the spell book and placed it in Hawks hands, upon doing so the book began to change. At first it was just a soft faint blue glow that soon turned into the brilliant radiance of a noon day sun. She had to avert her eyes from being blinded by the brilliance of it. The glow faded after a few seconds and the book that had been black and ragged from age and use was now replaced by a book of brilliant gold radiance that had an ancient arcane symbol upon it that glowed with a brilliant blue radiance. She could feel the power emanating from the book and so wished to hold it. So she decided that it would be so.

Anecetus reached out to take the book from Hawk's hands but upon touching the book the blue radiance turned red and the book began to thrum with the power locked inside. She was dead before she realized what had happened. She could see her body lying crumpled on the floor in a burned and charred ma.s.s. She knew at that very moment she was dead.

Hawk and the others awoke shortly after Anecetus had touched the book. They saw her charred and crumpled body lying on the floor in front of Hawk with one hand still touching the book. Hawk looked at the book in his hand and knew what had happened. He wanted to yell and scream at his now dead mother but he knew that would do no good. She did what she had to do; the only thing left was to see what secrets the book held.

Angel was the first to notice that the book had changed and after pointing this out, the others couldn't understand why they had not seen this as well but there was no answer to their question. Hawk set the book down on his mothers reading table and opened it. On the inside cover there was an inscription in the ancient language of the Demons of h.e.l.l. Hawk did not know how or why he could read this language but he could and so he translated it for the others.

"Let it be known that, he who touches the book of shadows shall so change the book into the book of life, upon which the book will only allow the one who is chosen to touch the book. All others shall be destroyed, for it is ye who has the power to do good or evil. But know that only one may ever possess the book and that one will not be of nature but an unnatural creature of magic, one with power beyond his dreams. He will have the power to choose the destiny of the world."

They stood there in silence at the revelation that lay there on the table before them. Hawk began to flip through the pages of the spell book until he came upon a page that glowed with the same radiance that the cover did. Hawk read the page and re-read the page to be sure that he understood what the casting of this spell meant. When he was sure, he sat back in the chair and stared off into s.p.a.ce. He began to tell the others about what he read on the page and about the consequences of casting this spell. "It would mean the end of the world, as we know it. The world would be transformed in the image that I choose, so if I choose a world full of violence and ma.s.s destruction, then the world would be destroyed and I would be the cause of it all."

"So why not just leave the world as it is then. There would be no problem, right?" Natalia asked.

"I only wish it was that simple but when I cast the spell, I have to choose a new image for the world to be created in. If I don't then the world will be destroyed, so no matter what I do, I have to change the world in some way if I cast this spell." They all sat there for a minute trying to think of a way to cast the spell and not change the world but they didn't have much time to think on the subject when the book suddenly slammed shut and the front door exploded inward filling the small room with a cloud of dust.

When the dust had settled enough for them to see, they saw Nightwing standing in the doorway of the small cabin. He was holding the sword that he had crafted but it was as yet unblessed. He didn't have the time to cast the necessary spells when he felt the call of the book of life. He flew though town to the cabin and used his powers to blow in the door, catching them all by surprise. He darted forward towards Hawk and the book. Hawk shot out of the chair and towards the back of the room. He knew that if Nightwing attacked, they would all be killed for none of them had the time to call upon their innate weapons with which to defend themselves from his attack.

Nightwing was not interested in them, he was after the book and that was what he went for. But when he touched the book, the arcane symbol once again changed from the brilliant blue to a deep shade of purple. Nightwing's face contorted into a look of shear and absolute pain. He tried, unsuccessfully, to pull his hand away from the book. Small snakes of electricity slinked up his arm and a ghostly form began to take shape above the book.

They all recognized the demon for what he was. He was the one who created the book for his lover before she betrayed him and killed him in his own home. The ghostly figure reached out and touched Nightwing's chest, sending bolts of electricity into his heart cavity. After what felt like an eternity, the ghostly figure faded as did the purple glow of the arcane symbol and Nightwing was gone, finally destroyed by the one thing he sought to possess. The only thing he ever truly desired in his whole miserable life.

Epilogue

The group stood there for many moments staring at the charred remains of Nightwing's body. The acrid smoke rising from his charred corpse a.s.saulted their senses and brought them back to the moment at hand. Nightwing's remains began to crumble and blow away in the breeze that was coming in through the shattered remains of the front door.

"Well, now that the threat of Nightwing is past, what are we going to do with the book? We can't keep it and we can't just leave it here." Hawk pointed out

"Well there is one thing we can do." Angel said

"What are you talking about the book killed two people as it is, what are we going to do bury it?" Natalia asked

The look on Angel's face told them more than they wished to know. "We are not going to bury the book but we are going to return it to its rightful owner."

"And just how the h.e.l.l do you plan on doing that, the owner of the book blew out the door with our brother, in case you forgot." Savirion noted dryly

"For your information, no I did not forget. There is something that you need to know about the book. The true owner is not your mother, she never was, she was only the keeper of the book. The true owner is, and always has been, the Demon. We must return the book to him so that it can be properly protected from those that would seek to use it for their own gain." Angel replied.

The others took a minute to digest this information and it was Hawk who finally asked the question that was on everybody's mind, "How can we return the book to the Demon when our mother killed him." He asked as much as stated.

"Simple, he's not dead. He has simply been banished from this realm and as long as your mother was alive he could not return here. Now that she is dead, we can return the book back to the rightful owner but we must summon him to this realm." Angel told them of the spell of summoning and how the spell was going to work. She gave them one warning about the Demon and the spell that would summon him. He would be very antagonistic towards the group and given the chance, would kill them. So they must be quick about their duties and send him back to his realm where he can do no harm.

They began their preparations for the summoning and set about their duties as Angel had a.s.signed them. When everything was ready, they began the summoning of the Demon. Angel stayed back from the group, as her presence would only cause more trouble then they needed.

Hawk began to chant and form the archaic symbols as Angel had shown him. He summoned his natural magical ability and enhanced the power flowing from him into the circle. After what seemed like an eternity to the group, the circle began to fill with smoke.

The smoke began to take shape and soon they could make out the form of a giant winged creature and then, he was before them. He wore a look of surprise at first until he realized that he was trapped inside the circle of magic. When the Demon saw who his summoner was, he relaxed a bit.

"What do you want Vampiric?" The Demon asked.

Hawk was surprised to here the Demon speak the common tongue so fluently. "We have something that belongs to you and would like to see it returned." Hawk told him

"What could you have of mine that would be of such importance, that you would risk summoning me from my home?" He asked.

"We have your book of shadows." Hawk replied. The Demons eyes narrowed to slits and glared at Hawk for many long moments. Finally, speaking in low tones, resembling a growl more than a question. "How is it that you have come upon my book that book belongs to your mother. You should have been killed when you touched it."

"Should have but didn't, rather the book changed."

This brought a surprised look to the Demons face "you are the chosen one but you are not right for the spell of making. You are pure of heart and kind of soul. You do not even require human blood, how is it that, you are the chosen one?" The Demon asked of Hawk

"If I knew that I would tell you but I don't, so I wont. Now about the book."

Hawk took the book off of a near by table and held it's edges just barely within the rim of the circle so that the Demon could grasp it. Upon doing so, the magic of the circle was dispersed and the Demon was no longer held by the binding magick. To prove it he grabbed the book and stepped forward across the chalk circle on the floor. The group let out an audible gasp at seeing this but made no move towards him, fearing any retaliation from the Demon.

"I see that you are not surprised by my freedom Hawk."

"Should I be?"

"No, I guess not. After all, you knew this would happen. Angel told you all about it didn't she?"

"You know that she did."

"Of course, but let us return to the situation at hand, shall we?"

"Indeed, we do need to take care of the book as soon as possible."

The Demon and Hawk went over to the writing table and sat the book down. The Demon ran his hand along the cover of the book and then began to trace the symbol on the cover. As he did so, the symbol changed color once again to a soft white light. The Demon was bathed in the light coming from the book.

They were soon blinded by the light coming from the book, all but Hawk. The Demon had to look away. As the light began to fade, so did the demon and the book. The light quickly vanished, as did the Demon and the book, but not before the Demon was able to express his grat.i.tude for freeing him and returning his book.

The others regained their sight a few seconds later and all were stunned to see Hawk smiling and changed. He was not a Vampiric and he was not transformed like the others. He was human and happy to be so.

Nightwing 6 Chapter 6

If you are looking for Nightwing 6 Chapter 6 you are coming to the right place. Nightwing is a Webnovel created by Bruce_Hickman. This lightnovel is currently ongoing. Shakar was heading west, following up on a lead that there had been some recent Vampiric activity in the mountains surrounding the evercrest hills, where the tree people lived. Shakar had hoped to employ the help of the tree people in his quest to fight the Vampirics. He had high hopes that they would see it his way for they had had many problems with the creatures in the past and a few of them even sought to destroy the creatures but failed.

There was a renewed hope for him though, among the tree people was a special woman. A blacksmith who was known for forging fine weaponry. It had even been said that once she held the innate sword of a fallen Vampiric, before the Vampiric had died, he pa.s.sed on the magic of the race to her through the sword or at least that's how the legend goes. Luck was not with him this day though. He had traveled for many days to the land of the tree people and what he found on the other side of the Evercrest Mountains. The once beautiful forest was now burnt and desolate wasteland. Where there had once been love and beauty now stood only death and destruction. This enraged Shakar in a primal way that he never experienced before. He ran down the mountain into the burnt and scarred trees, looking for anyone who might be able to tell him what he wanted to know but he found no one.

Shakar was devastated by what he found in the dead trees of the Evercrest Mountains. He fell to his knees and cried for several minutes until he felt a hand on his shoulder. In one swift movement he was on his feet, sword in hand, in a defensive posture. Shakar's posture changed quickly when he saw that the person who had touched him was the leader of the Tree people. She was standing in ragged tattered clothing, a far cry from the fine garbs of silk that he was accustomed to seeing her in.

"I thought that no one had survived from the look of the forest and the devastation that has been caused here. What happened?" Shakar asked.

"Well you're not as far off as you might think. We lost most of our clan to the fire that swept through here." She responded.

"Fire but this forest is supposed to be protected from such things. How could this happen?" He asked with fear in his voice. The mighty warrior of a woman standing before him seemed to soften and shrink back with the thought of what happened. After a few moments, she looked into Shakar's eyes. He could see the fire that burned within them and the shear hatred she held towards the one who had done this. She began to describe the horrors of the past few days of the attack by the Vampirics.

She told him about the one known as Nightwing and how he appeared to be their savior but that as it turned out was not the case. "He had managed to chase off the other Vampirics but there was one among them who was not so easily frightened by the ma.s.sive Vampiric. The apparent female challenged him to a fight after a few minutes of swordplay. Nightwing backed off and hovered in the air. After a few seconds, he pointed his hands at the female and shot bolts of lightening out of his hands, hitting the other square in the air. We began to cheer for him thinking he had just saved us from annihilation and so we called out to him. When he landed, something didn't feel right about his aura. When we asked him how we could thank him, he said he wanted the sword of caltamara."

"We had no idea of what he was talking about and when we told him as much he became enraged and demanded that we turn over the sword or he would destroy our home. We naturally refused to de intimidated by him, so he flew off into the air and hovered for a few minutes. Then it happened. He cast a fireball down upon the forest. All of the wards and protection spells could not stop the immense power he cast down, to that fireball we lost out home and many of the clans." "Why didn't you give him the sword?" Shakar asked of her.

"Because at the time we didn't know what he was talking about. It wasn't until later that we realized the sword he was talking about was the sword that was pa.s.sed on to me when the Vampiric we rescued died. But had I known, I would have used the sword on that b.a.s.t.a.r.d and prevented all of this." She said with venom dripping from every word. The two stood in silence for what seemed an eternity. When they finally spoke they could only talk of the task ahead of them.

The dead needed to be buried and the wounded needed to be tended to. They set about their task in the most efficient way they could, thinking of using the magic of the earth, to call upon the elements to take the bodies into the earth. The magic used to call upon the elements was a powerful magic that drained the caster of their energy and left them feeling weak and tired. Only a few powerful magicians could ever call more than one of the two mighty giants at one time and survive.

"Hawk, I told you the first time, I am not going to mate with you. Now why don't you come over here and sit down so we can figure out how we are going to handle this." Natalia's rejection of the mating process quickly sobered up Hawk and brought him to the brink of a Vampirics nightmare, an enraged Vampiric who has consumed the elixir of life. It is the worst thing that a Vampiric can ever experience in his or her lifetime. The elixir gives the Vampiric an unusual burst of strength increasing their normal abilities up to five times that of normal. Only two Vampirics have ever seen the rage of life and they didn't survive to tell anyone about it. There is a story told to the children in many of the villages, about a lady Vampiress who consumed the elixir of life and was unable to find a suitable mate, so she became enraged and it transformed her into a horrible creature, half male and half female.

The legend of the lady Vampiress was just that, a legend. No one had ever really seen her and many didn't even believe that she existed. So it was that the tale was told and retold so many times that it became twisted and changed and rearranged, always to suite the needs of the story teller. Hawk didn't go into the berserker rage that they were all expecting. Instead he chose to sit with Natalia but after a few minutes of quiet contemplation, he rose and headed for the door of the Screaming Dragon Inn, stopping just short of exiting. He turned and looked at Savirion and with a low subtle voice. He said "When she is settled in and has a room for the night, be sure she has a meal and plenty of drink. Then when night falls you will know where to find me if you choose." With that said and his mood very clearly shown on his face, he left and took to the air.

"What was that all about?" Natalia inquired of Savirion.

"That, I'm afraid, was a very bad sign. When he gets in one of his moods he has a tendency to become violently enraged and I usually try to keep my distance from him so as not to get myself killed. Unfortunately though, it would appear that this time, keeping my distance would not be in his best interest."

"I hope that his mood is not because of my rejection of him."

"I only wish that I could say that is not the case, unfortunately I can't, quite simply this is your fault."

"I was afraid you were going to say that. Do you think it would help if I spoke to him?"

"Doubtful unless of course you're planning on telling him that you have decided to mate with him after all."

"Not a chance in h.e.l.l of that happening!"

"Then I think you had better stay here." With that final thought, Savirion left the Inn and took to the skied in search of Hawk. It didn't take long to find him as he simply followed the screams of rage and anguish into the foothills of the township where he found Hawk taking out his aggression on the trees. Savirion actually felt sorry for the foliage, as it was simply a venue for the outlet of the rage that Hawk felt at the rejection of the mating ritual. Savirion landed but kept his distance from the Vampiric as he vented his anger.

"Hawk, are you going to be OK or would you prefer that I came back in a few hours when you have calmed down?"

This seemed to bring Hawk back to a certain sense of reality and he calmed just a little. "I would like to apologize for my behavior back at the Inn. I had no right to behave that way."

"Don't blame yourself, after all you have been consuming elixir of life and it has been known to cause sets of rage in the Vampirics."

"You don't understand. I have not been drinking the elixir of life."

"If you haven't been drinking the elixir, then what have you been drinking?"

"Blood, but a very special kind of blood. I mean it was not human blood. It was goats' blood mixed with the saliva of the vampire bat to help keep it fresh."

"So what you are saying is that for the past week or so you have been drinking animal blood?"

"Yes."

"But how is that possible. We can't drink animal blood and survive. We require human blood. There is no way other than ascension to avoid that."

"I thought so to but then I was given a vision that showed me that I could survive on animal blood as opposed to human. I believe that I have been given a very special gift and I wanted to share it with you and Natalia, that is why I sent you to find her. It was not so we could mate but so that I could tell her of my vision and my discovery."

"But why then did you get so upset when she refused to mate with you?"

"I was not upset at the fact that she would not mate with me. I knew that she would not but I was infuriated at the fact that she thought the only reason I would want to see her is to mate with her, not that I wouldn't enjoy the opportunity to mate with her. I was not planning on bringing it up."

"Perhaps we should return and explain things to Natalia. She might be more receptive to this information if she knew what was going on in that head of yours. Since that is not possible at this time, we'll just have to settle for what we can get out of you through conversation." With the secret that Hawk had been keeping finally out in the open, the forest got a rest from the brutality of Hawks rage. The two of them headed back to the Inn to find a rather stunned Natalia sitting at one of the common rooms tables drinking a dark thick fluid from the flask she carried around her neck. Savirion looked at her stunned manner but chose not to come to the conclusion that she was drinking the elixir but rather preferred to ask what it was that she was drinking.

"Not to seem too curious here but just what is that your drinking?"

"It's not the elixir if that's what you're thinking. To put your mind at further ease, it's not blood either. It just so happens that I brew a rather powerful drink. It's a mixture of herb, spices and certain alcohol's that combined with a rather unique spell that gives it a powerful kick. The only problem is that it has to be kept out of the sun or it becomes rather volatile and tends to explode on any kind of impact."

"I take it that you found this out from personal experience?"

"As much as I hate to say it, yes. You see one day I was brewing up a batch of my elixir when the small jar I had set on my workbench was knocked over by a rather curious racc.o.o.n. A small amount of the fluid dripped off the table and hit a branch lying on the ground. The branch was completely blown to pieces and that was when I discovered the volatility of the fluid. So I began to experiment and discovered that it was the sun that caused the elixir to become explosive."

"I would think that with the danger that the elixir you posses you would stop making the stuff and get rid of the amount you already made." Savirion noted with a smile.

"I would have but then I thought about all the work I had put into it and decided to keep it out of the sun and dispose if it in the best possible way I could think of."

"So what you just decided to drink the stuff, is that it?" Hawk asked with a slight hint of contempt in his voice.

"I take it he's still a little mad about earlier?"

"Mad, no I not mad. I'm just terribly disappointed in you."

"Disappointed, in me, why the h.e.l.l would you be disappointed in me, I'm not the one who had planned on mating with someone without even considering their feelings on the subject."

"Now there you go jumping to conclusions again. You see, both you and Savirion had simply a.s.sumed that I was consuming the elixir of life. The reason that I asked you here is because I have a secret that I think you will find rather amazing."

"Well, don't keep up in suspense, tell us."

"I have not been consuming human blood and I have been consuming an elixir of life for the past week. I have been drinking animal blood from my flask."

"Animal blood, but that's impossible. Your a Vampiric, you require human blood to survive. There's no way you can consume animal blood and survive. Come to think of it, what did you do with the elixir of life?"

"I poured it out, dumped it in a river a few hundred miles back."

"All right Hawk, you have got some explaining to do. I want it all right now and I mean everything." Hawk began to tell his tale. He told them of the vision and what he saw. He told them of the first time he took down the antelope and ingested the full of its blood. At first the experience left him drained but after a couple of hours, he began to feel different, like no other feeling he had ever experienced before. He felt stronger and faster. His senses were heightened. He could smell things he had never smelled before, could hear things at great distances, the feeling was exhilarating at best.

"So for a couple of days, I feasted on antelope but then I saw a creature of pure beauty and just knew I had to have it. So I took flight and when the timing was right, I swooped down and attacked but this time it wasn't so easy. This one put up one h.e.l.l of a fight and after that I ingested the blood of the tiger. I noticed that I could see farther and was faster than I had ever been before. I had discovered that every animal I ingested, I gained its abilities but that's not all. So it would seem, I developed a new power. I can change into the animal after ingesting more than one. So far I have been an antelope, a tiger, an eagle and a horse. So far the most exhilarating has been the eagle. I can see things that I never have been able to see before."

The two of them sat in silence for many minutes as they considered just what this could mean in the fight with Nightwing that was still ahead. With the new powers that Hawk had developed, he should have a clear advantage over Nightwing, if not in his natural form, then in one of his animal forms. One of the few things that could cause harm to a Vampiric were the natural animals of the world. There was something about them that allowed them to inflict wounds on the Vampirics. The animals had been given a gift of sorts so that they would have a natural defense against the unnatural beings.

"All right, so you say you can change into the animals that you 'eat' and you didn't think to mention this to me in the woods when you told me about this the first time?"

"No, I guess I just didn't think about it then. Would you like to see?" The question seemed to catch them off guard but after a few seconds they regained their composure and with out further thought, gave him an enthusiastic "YES". With that he chose the most prominent form he could think of for the tavern, gave a quick glance around and then closed his eyes. He concentrated on the form of the panther as Natalia and Hawk sat in silence. They could hear his bones cracking and reshaping themselves. His wings wrapped around his body and seemed to be absorbed into his flesh. His face elongated and his fangs shortened. His ears grew longer and more cat like. His arms became powerful legs with soft padded paws and razor sharp claws. After the transformation was complete, he sat on the wooded floor and gave a low growl of recognition.

They could only sit and stare in utter amazement at what they were looking at. They couldn't believe that the animal now sitting before them was their friend and relative. Savirion almost fell out of his chair at the thought of what he was seeing. Natalia, on the other hand was not so well composed and fainted. The transformation back was almost instantaneous. When he was back to his old self, he went over to Natalia and set her up in the chair, gave her a good smack across the face to wake her and then stood back.

"What the h.e.l.l did you hit me for?"

"Sorry, it seemed like the best way to rouse you at the time."

"Yeah sure, and I'll just bet you enjoyed the h.e.l.l out of it, didn't you?"

"Well, I won't say that I did and I won't say that I didn't."

"Yeah, that's just like you. You never really admit to anything, do you?"

"Of course not, why should I?"

"Oh, I don't know, common courtesy, had that thought ever crossed your mind?"

"Yeah, once or twice but then I wasn't insulted by someone jumping to conclusions about why I had asked you to come to the Screaming Dragon."

"All right, I deserved that but then you should have been nicer to me when I made that simple, albeit, painful mistake and I apologize."

"Apology accepted and you're forgiven. Now lets get down to business and deal with the Nightwing situation."

Nightwing 5 Chapter 5

If you are looking for Nightwing 5 Chapter 5 you are coming to the right place. Nightwing is a Webnovel created by Bruce_Hickman. This lightnovel is currently ongoing. Hawk was much smarter than his brother had given him credit for. That was the one thing that gave Hawk the advantage over Nightwing and a renewed sense of hope that was not evident before. None knew of the many schemes that were stirring in his head, schemes that would hopefully bring an end to his brothers' evil reign of terror and corruption. He would free people from the fear of the power that Nightwing holds over the towns he enters. The people would not have to fear the name of Nightwing ever again.

This was not so for the town Kamenstein, a town ruled by Vampirics who worshipped Nightwing as a G.o.d and would do anything that he commanded of them. The people of this town were nothing more than food for Nightwing and for is followers, it was a breeding colony for the future. It was to be a world in which Nightwing was a supreme ruler and was worshipped by all. The fear that possessed these people was a deep-rooted fear, one that had come from generations of rule under the Vampirics rule. Not many knew of this town set so far back in the Klein Mountains, where it would not be disturbed by would be travelers. Only a few had ever discovered its existence but they usually didn't live long enough to tell the tale of a town where Vampirics rule and people are raised like cattle for the slaughter.

This was a town of much privacy and little worldly knowledge. Any Vampiric who stumbled upon the town was often treated like a G.o.d and all his desires were fulfilled by the local townsfolk. If he sought out a woman, she was provided. If he was hungry, the weak and sick were hidden so that he would have his choice of the finest stock. If it were games that he desired, he was provided with an endless amount of activities. There was nothing these people wouldn't do to please their Vampiric masters.

The one thing that no one had considered was the lost legend of the temptress, an evil beast who seeks out the souls of all men who would willingly go to her. Those that wouldn't were often killed in rituals of sacrifice for power. Of course it was the greatest power of all, the power over every living thing.

Hawk had not forgotten this legend and soon could see the signs that the temptress was there or at least had been recently. A pa.s.sing traveler might mistake the unmarked graves for that of men and women who were to far gone to recognize or even a grave sight for bandits. For all too often in small towns such as this, bandits were not left where they were killed to ward off others. NO, many times these towns thrived on the bandits themselves, letting them attack rich pa.s.sing travelers and then attacking the bandits themselves, stealing all that the bandits had stolen only moments ago. This has become common practice in the last decade or so, for there seemed to be fewer and fewer Vampiric protectors around and the people were having to learn to fend for themselves.

Little did the towns' people know that the Vampirics weren't disappearing, they were changing into a new and more glorious version of their former selves. They were often becoming beautiful, angelic creatures of peace and love. They sought to hurt no one, in turn; they were left alone to do as they pleased in their daily lives. This change had almost become natural for the people when they would come across one of the chosen ones. This name was given to them by their fore fathers who saw them as a sign from G.o.d and a hope for the future of Vampirics. Though many of them never even dreamed of becoming one of the chosen ones, it was always a thought in the back of their minds that they could never ignore. For many, the hope to someday be chosen for the gift was the only thing that kept them going in the hard times. It kept them from harming innocent other in the time of trouble.

There were always those that would seek to bring down the hopes and dreams of their fellow Vampirics but the two that stood out the most amongst the group were the temptress Robyn of Sargonia. She is the most evil of all the Vampirics, the lady of death and destruction, the crusher of dreams, the seeker of the weak and the strong. She is commonly known as the lady Talia of the Baron Mountains of the western coast of Denier. Many people believed that they were made up by parents to get their children to behave. There were those that had seen the handy work of these two knew that the tales were true and that to cross the paths with either of these two ladies would mean certain death.

One such person lucky enough to have survived an attack by these two ladies still bears the scars of the powerful fighting capabilities. Even to this day, he has sworn to seek out and destroy the ones that scared him. Shakar's obsession with destroying these vile creatures is all that keeps him going at times, where there seems to be no hope for anybody in a world where evil is more or less tolerated by the people. Many turn a blind eye to the crimes that happen around them day in and day out but that was soon to change. Shakar would bring the beginning of a new era of peace.

He was not going to be alone in this battle for there were many of the chosen ones who would stand and fight, even die, for him if it was necessary. They all believed that he was the one who was to rule. They would do anything to see that he was brought into the light. They would stand by the Vampirics and fight along side of them, They would not, however, by any means allow them to come to power over the world that they helped to create. They felt that only a true human could ever rule the world. They were determined to see that it happened no matter what the consequences might be, even if it meant the destruction of the human race.

People can often at times fool themselves into believing that they are superior over other beings and that no matter what they will always come out on top. One person believes differently. She is a believer in the true fates of the people. She has a gift of power and with it she is to become one of the greats in the history of the battle for survival.

"Tell me Hawk, what is it that is troubling you on this fine day" Savirion inquired of the mighty Vampiric.

"There is nothing that troubles me this day. I am simply thinking about something that has come to mind for some time." Hawk replied with a sly grim on his face.

"AHH! I see, you are thinking about the lovely Natalia again. You know that you could never have her Hawk, you are two different people." Savirion always made it a point to bring up the one fact that would always keep Hawk at bay but it seemed as though Hawk was not going to let go that easily this time.

"Savirion, you must do me a favor and find her for me. You must give her a message for me. Tell her that I must see her, it is a matter of life or death that we speak and soon." Hawk said with a conviction that told Savirion that he was not giving up so easily this time. So Savirion hurried off to find the one person that would set Hawk back on track and hopefully get his mind back in the mission at hand. Savirion was always worried that the same thing would happen and that Hawk would go out on one of his rampages after being rejected by the lovely Natalia, as he had always done in the past.

He could only hope that this time he could convince the lady of mystery to play along with him for once and just humor the guy, in hopes that he could get him back in the mood to hunt down their ever deadly brother Nightwing. It didn't' take long for Savirion to find her. After all, she always knew when company was coming to visit, that was her curse, the ability to see into the future that could be. She was waiting at the door when he arrived and without a second thought she answered the question that was forming in Savirions mind. She didn't hesitate to answer it before he could ask it.

"No, absolutely not, I will not go to Hawk" she said before Savirion had even landed in his ever so graceful way, like that of a dancer. He would glide in, touch down softly without a sound.

"Well, it is good to see you too, Natalia." He responded in his coy sort of way.

"Sorry, Savirion. I didn't mean to do that but you know how it is when you know the probable future. You sometimes act without a thought and usually end up saying things you didn't intend to say out loud." She replied.

"I know my lady, but this time is different. He has completely lost his course on the mission. He can't even keep his mind on it anymore. All he has done for the past two days is stare off into s.p.a.ce when I ask him what he is thinking. He usually says its nothing and not to worry about it. I know he is thinking of you Natalia, so will you please, just this once go to him and talk to him. Maybe, just maybe, you can get his mind back on track." He almost pleaded with her to do this but feared that she would still stay no.

To Savirions surprise, she actually agreed to go with him and to talk to Hawk but he still feared the worst. Natalia did not like what she saw in her vision, so she agreed to go only to prevent the possible future that she saw. For even though she had no feelings for Hawk, outside friendship, she could not stand the thought of seeing him defeated by Nightwing and his warriors. Natalia was determined to see that the vision was changed and with every pa.s.sing mile a new vision would come to her. They were getting better but she knew that there was much to do done if she was to direct the future into a positive form.

They arrived just after sunset in the fourth day of their travels. When Savirion had left Hawk, he was still headed in a westerly direction. He was apparently back on the mission for he had changed directions three times. If it was not for the help of Natalia and her visions, they surely would not have caught up to Hawk as quickly as they did. Hawk had decided to stop off in a small town where the people were almost shocked to see a Vampiric in their midst's but they treated him no different than any other traveler. He was charged the same rates for rooms as anyone was. The only exception they made for him was giving him the prisoners sentenced to die att.i.tude. They made sure he would have a good supply of food so he wouldn't be tempted to take one of the towns' folk for his meal.

Savirion and Natalia landed just outside of the town and performed the usual ritual of folding their wings so that they looked like a cloak rather than wings. They soon discovered that this made no difference, for they were spotted for what they truly were shortly after they entered the town. As with any small town, the news of their arrival spread quickly. They were soon greeted by a large group of peasants who welcomed them with open arms and questions unabound.

"Say, are you folks with that other feller who flew in here a couple of day's back?" One of the elder peasants asked of the two.

"Uh, yeah, I think he would happen to go by the name of Hawk?" Savirion asked the old man.

"Don't know for sure, never did mention his name. In fact, he never did mention anything about himself, only said to keep an eye out for a tall, dark skinned man traveling with a tall golden skinned beauty of a lady. Said you'd probably be traveling on foot and well so far you two are the only people who come this way that fits that description." The elder told him.

"Well then, I guess that we are with him, could you point us in the right direction." Natalia asked in the smooth soft tones that would make any mortal man melt for her. "Sure ma'am, he's at the inn. It's the only one we got so's you can't miss it, just ahead down the main road here and it will take you right to it." He said with a gleam in his eye that told her she hadn't lost her touch. Now she only hoped that she could use that charm to keep Hawk's mind on the mission and off of her body.

All was going well so far and they had no problem finding the Inn. Now dealing with Hawk was another thing entirely and with a little luck, she would be able to keep him at bay. She knew from past experiences that it was not going to be easy. This was one of those times when Natalia wished she did not have the inherent charm of the Vampirics. Little did she know that Hawk not affected by her charm abilities, in fact no Vampiric was ever affected by the inherent charm of the females.

They entered the Inn and before they could even ask about Hawk the innkeeper pointed to the only upstairs room in the place and said, "He's up there. He's been waiting for you two to get here for some time now. He comes down every so often and has a drink of a weird liquid he keeps in a leather flask. It's a real dark thick liquid he seems to down an awful lot of that stuff. You folks wouldn't happen to know what it is, would ya?"

"Yes, unfortunately we would, for you see we all carry flasks like his. We keep a special drink in it that is normally on ingested during the mating ritual which can last as long as two weeks or as little as three days. If he's been ingesting that stuff for the past two days, that means he's preparing to mate." Savirion replied stoically. This revelation brought a look of dread to Natalia's face for she new who he was intending to mate with. She was bound and determined that she would not be the one, no matter what she had to do to keep him at bay, even if it meant that she had to tie him down for four days so that the elixir could work it's way out of his system. That way he wouldn't have the desire to mate.

While this seemed like a good idea to Hawk, Natalia was not the willing partic.i.p.ant that he had hoped she would be.

"Natalia, you came. I am so glad you came. You have no idea how much I have missed you" Hawk called out from the doorway of his room. Savirion and Natalia turned and looked up at the smiling Hawk and both could see that he had ingested the full amount of the elixir and was nearly ready for mating. While Savirion found this to be amusing, Natalia was not so amused for she knew what was coming next and she was not looking forward to it.

Nightwing 4 Chapter 4

If you are looking for Nightwing 4 Chapter 4 you are coming to the right place. Nightwing is a Webnovel created by Bruce_Hickman. This lightnovel is currently ongoing. "Let me tell you a tale of magic and wonderment" calls out a tall, lengthy man in travel worn clothes carrying a lyre. He began to sing his song even though no one appeared to be interested at first, but as the story he told became more intriguing, more people began to gather around. Little kids were awe struck by the tale of winged creatures that hunted like wild animals in the night. Those that had seen them or heard about them began to rustle in the crowd and talk amongst themselves, sharing their own tales of the winged creatures. After the bard had finished his tale, the crowd cheered and called for more but he merely bowed and said,

"That is merely a taste of the tales that I have in store for you good folks but now is not the time for that. I would like to get cleaned up and I hope to see you all at tonight's festival, where I will gladly sing you many tales of the great winged creatures." With that the bard took his leave to the towns only Inn, where he paid for the finest room for the next week, and told the Inn keeper that there would be an extra ten gold pieces in it for him if he was not disturbed while he slept.

The prospect of gold brought a gleam to the Inn keepers eye and he a.s.sured the bard that he would not be disturbed. If he needed anything at all, he need only to ask. He went to his room and removed all his clothes accept for his loincloth that was customary to the Vampiric race. He stretched and unfolded his wings. It felt good to get those human coverings off, he thought to himself as he stretched his wings to their full twenty-eight foot length. It was nearly impossible due to the size of the room but fortunately for him the best room the Inn had just happened to be a full thirty feet in length.

Even though he was shorter than the average Vampiric, his height of six foot ten inches was still imposing to most people he came across. The bard had an advantage that none of the others had. He looked human compared to the other Vampirics. Even though he had darker skin than the average person, most a.s.sociated it with the time he spent on the road in the hot sun, and that was why he had such dark skin tones. Why he looked the way he did and not like the others was a mystery he did not wish to solve. He was merely happy that he could pa.s.s as a normal human, for that he thanked the lord and prayed everyday that he may someday be truly human once again.

Now he would rest for he was weary from his travels and tonight he would do to this town what he done to every town he had been through in the last two hundred years. He would spin tales that the towns' people would never forget and then in the dark and cover of night, he would fly off and never be seen by these people again. There would be tales told and songs sung of his time in this little town and the Inn keeper who was so kind to him, would find a gift greater than he could have ever imagined.

The Innkeeper made sure that the bard was not disturbed by the patrons. He ordered the door and walls within five feet of the room padded so as to lower the chances of noise waking him. He also kept the rooms next to his empty so not to disturb his high paying patron as was customary for the Inn keeper to do in the case of important or well paying customers, especially when there was the promise of money involved with any special deeds that might need to be done.

After what seemed an eternity of sleep, the bard rose and prepared for his first night in the small town. He knew that it would not be easy to impress these people. He knew that he would have to begin with a tale that was well known and had been pa.s.sed on and altered through out the generations of people. As more people gather around to hear the tales they have heard so many times before but are always willing to listen and here the bards' tale. After all no two bardic tales were ever the same.

The bard took his place on the stage and bowed to the crowd gathered around. He took up his lyre and tested the strings. He cleared his throat and looked out into the faces of those gathered around deciding what tale to tell, with the awe and wonderment of the children in the front rows. That was when he chose the best tale of all, the tale of the first Vampiric. He began to sing the soft song of love and deceit, after a few minutes he could see the crowd was lost in his smooth flowing voice. The words pouring out in the most beautiful tones that the towns people had ever heard and would never hear again once he was gone, so it went on for what seemed on eternity. The crowd that had gathered around didn't seem to mind.

They were captivated with his song and would give anything to hear it all but as the tale came to a close, his hold over the crowd faded as well. As they came out of their trances, they began to cry for more. So he did give them more, he sang tales of love; tales of battles won and lost, of hearts broken and promises made. He sang tales all day long until the sun had come down and almost out of sight, yet the towns' people still called out for more.

The bard would give them more with the coming of the new day. With that he took his leave back to the Inn where he would rest from the days show and prepares for his nightly hunt.

The new day would bring new tales to weave. This would go on until it was time for him to take his leave and even the town may never know his name, they would never forget the bard that held them captivated for so many days. The bard that had made them cry out for more and pray for a short night so that they could hear new tales with the coming of the dawn. There would always be the day when they would gather, but he would already be gone, in flight, on his way to the next town. To his next crowd of captivated listeners and a new Innkeeper to tempt with the promise of gold.

The bards only fear was that the people would find out what he was and then his dream of humanity would be lost forever. He is a bard, a musician, a lover and a former warrior but he was not always a bard of tales. He was once one of the most feared warriors of his time but one day in battle the Lord spoke to him.

The Lord said "Savirion; you have done many evil and vile things in this world. You have brought fear and disgust to this world. That has not been seen since the time before the dawn. You have terrorized these people long enough and now you must repent for you crimes against man, so that you will never forget I have transformed you into the thing you desire most, humanity. You are not human you are still a Vampiric and if you ever want to be human again, you must never let anyone know that you are a Vampiric. If any should discover your secret, you will revert back to the way you were before. How you hide your secret is up to you but remember, I am always watching.

It came to pa.s.s that he chose to be a bard and spread joy and happiness to the people he met rather than fear and hatred. So for a thousand years he has done so, hoping that the Lord would see it in his infinite kindness to grant him that which he seeks so desperately.

The next morning began a new day of tales and listeners, new children to awe with his words and elders to correct at those appropriate times. There would even be those that would tell their own version of the tales that they had heard. There would always be those who would dispute everything and say it's all a bunch of folk tales, stories made up to scare the young children into behaving for their parents.

None of that really seemed to matter though, all he ever thought about from day to day was his humanity. He would have given anything to have kept it and not become the freak that he considered himself to be. He would curse his mother for the spell she cast upon him but he also praised her. She gave him the strength that was denied him because of a childhood illness that left him crippled and weak. On his birthday he transformed into the mighty beast of the Vampiric race but he was not as tall and his strength was not commonly strong.

He was unique. His strength was surprising, even to him. He only stood at a height of six foot ten but he was by far the strongest of all the Vampirics that had ever existed. He could only a.s.sume that it was because of his defiance at the time of the awakening but it mattered not to him. All he cared about was revenge on those that took advantage of him.

He sang tales of violent battles this day. The people were so quiet as he told his tale that if you were to drop a rock in a pond. The sound would be shattering to the straining ears of those around the stage. He was magnificent as he spoke, women would melt and men would grow envious of his power over those around him. When he spoke, rooms would get quiet and conversations would stop as they all listened to what he had to say. Only this day there would be trouble for the peaceful bard.

A stranger was on the horizon, a tall man, dark and foreboding, his head buried deep in a draping cloak. His stature was monstrous. He was taller than any man in the city, reaching a height of seven feet and three inches. He seemed perfectly harmless as he entered the township but the bard knew what he was and feared his presence. There were often times when they were able to sense their own kind when they were within a few feet of each other. Not all of them could do it. There were those who could and those who had no idea that it could even be done.

The stranger stood amongst the crowd and listened to the tale that was being told. After a time, he began to scowl at the bard and tried to taunt him into a defensive posture so that he might know this one better. When the bard failed to miss a beat or even be bothered by the taunts, he decided that it was time for more drastic measures. He cried out, "That is a blatant lie. Vampirics are not all evil. You are perverting the story so the crowd will be captivated and you will have an ever-present audience to entertain."

"That is not what I said" he replied. "I was merely trying to say that for the most part, Vampirics are not the best of beings. I did not say that they were evil, and just who are you to question my tales anyway?" This seem to anger the man. The people around him began to back up as a low growl came from out of the cloak. He reached up and with a black clawed hand; he drew back the cowl and removed the cape, throwing it down on the ground. He stretched what appeared to be impossibly large bat like wings. He threw his head back and let a roar that reached deep into the hearts of those around him. For a split second, it held an icy cold grip over them.

He cried out, "I am known as Hawk and I challenge you to a fight. Prove to me that you are right by defeating me in hand to hand combat human, or do you fear the Vampiric race so." The last comment made those around begin to stir and talk amongst themselves in low hushed whispers, not wanting to upset the Vampiric any more than he already was.

Savirion became angered at the taunt used by Hawk and almost revealed the one thing he could never reveal to any human. He knew that he would lose face with the people if he didn't accept the challenge laid out before him. So he hopped down off the stage, set his lyre down and approached Hawk. The crowd backed up into a circle as the two beings prepared to fight it out. The tension was high as they sized each other up for the fight, each trying to figure out what the other might do. Then the first strike came like a bolt of lightning from the heavens. Hawk launched himself forward into the small frame of Savirion, knocking him off of his feet.

He quickly regained his ground and forced Hawk to stand still as the crowd roared for blood and mayhem. As the two lock in battle, ripping and clawing like two animals in a struggle for a freshly killed deer. The battle raged on for what seemed like hours, neither really doing any real damage to the other. It didn't really seem to matter to the crowd. All they cared about was the antic.i.p.ation of possible blood shed by one of the two beings fighting. That's when the unthinkable happened.

Hawks claws had managed to do enough damage to Savirions clothes that the pressure of wings pressing against them finally caused them to tear away, revealing his deepest secret, one he had managed to keep from the human race for over a hundred years. Now his secret was out. This caused a rage to well up within Savirion like he had never known. He let out a cry of rage and fear, crying out in a deep guttural voice,

"NOOOOOOOOO..." It was a cry like no man had ever heard before and no man would ever hear again.

"You! I would rip out your heart, if Vampirics had a heart, but you know as well as I that we do not. It is that reason and that reason alone that I will let you live to see another day!" Savirion cried out.

Hawk replied "you are not strong enough to defeat me. You are not a true Vampiric; you are a mere freak and could never hope to defeat a true Vampiric." Hawks taunts did exactly as he hoped they would. They angered Savirion to the point where he staked his claim on his Vampiric state and form claiming that he was as much a Vampiric as Hawk was. That was how he could defeat him because he had faith in his own abilities as a Vampiric. This seemed to anger Hawk but he was able to hide it with the practice of a trained fighter, never letting his enemy see his true emotions. For a split second, he slipped and lost control.

That was all Savirion needed to see that what he said had effected him greatly. That was why he would win this battle. He had over his doubt and fears. He had finally accepted the fact that he was Vampiric and that was a great gift given to him. He would not give it up for anything, not even his precious humanity. He realized that being a Vampiric was not a curse but a gift, one of the greatest gift known to man. He was proud to be a Vampiric and nothing could take that away from him.

Savirion knew that Hawk would not stand for him to be happy. He also knew that he would have to destroy him, but if he did then he would only have regret to face. Hawk knew that Savirion was destined to fight for what he thought was right and he didn't want to stand in his way. He knew as well the next best thing to do was to surrender and let Savirion have this day, to give him pride and to bring him joy. Neither was really willing to do what they knew was proper, rather they preferred death over surrender or defeat. It went on for many more minutes when it finally became clear to Hawk that Savirion would rather die than suffer the price of defeat. He decided that surrendering himself to the mercy of Savirions judgment.

Hawk leaped back and cried out "STOP, I surrender myself to the mercy of your soul, do what you feel you must do."

"You have quite possibly taken the one thing from me that I cherished most, the chance to be human again. For that, I should rip you apart and spread your tattered carca.s.s out in the sun for all to see. You have also made me realize that being a Vampiric is not a curse but a gift from the one true G.o.d. He has seen it in his infinite wisdom to grant me this most wonderful gift and I took it upon myself to destroy all that I hated.

It never really occurred to me that I was what I hated most and all I wanted was to be human. Feeling that I had been robbed of my humanity, when in fact I had been given a gift of the greatest form of humanity and the ability to help those around me who could not help themselves. You have helped me to realize this Hawk, and for that I thank you. I give unto you my deepest of grat.i.tude's. Now be on you way or help those that need you." Savirion replied to Hawk.

Hawk and Savirion left the people to contemplate what had happened this day. They headed off into the woods to discuss what must be done. They flew about three hundred yards into the woods to a small clearing where they would hopefully not be disturbed by any hunters or disturb any of the natural wildlife that lived in the great wooded plains of the PaG.o.da Mountains. They talked for hours about what had happened back in the township. Neither of them could shake the feeling that what they had done may not have been for the greater good of mankind but it was done and nothing could change the fact.

Unbeknownst to the pair, they were being watched from a distance by the one they sought so hard to find. Nightwing was careful to stay out of range of their sight and hearing. He would have normally done the same but not on this day. Nightwing had managed to learn a few spells from a powerful wizard before he ripped his throat out and devoured his life's blood for his dinner.

They were only simple spells and not very powerful. It was just luck for him that the wizard was also a spy for the local magistrate. He had many spells that would increase one's sight and hearing to phenomenal proportions, allowing them to see and hear conversations over a mile away. It could only be used for a short time at best for the spell drained the energy of the caster and often left them weak for many hours. Unfortunately for Nightwing, that also meant he was vulnerable to attack while he was resting from his spell casting.

The thought of having to rest after casting such medial spells was appalling to Nightwing but even so, he knew that to try to fight in his weakened condition would surly get him killed. Then his plans for his dear sweet mother would have all been a waste of time and he was not about to let his weakling brother get the upper hand on him, even if it meant being taxed greatly by the use of a few spells.

Unfortunately for Nightwing, Hawk had learned about the wizard just days before his brother had arrived. He had convinced the poor fool that to teach his spells to anyone like him would be a grave mistake. There was only one of a kind that would seek out such powers and he surely would not let this poor fool live long enough to tell his tale to anyone. The old wizard would not listen and vowed to tell his secrets to anyone who would seek him out. So it came to pa.s.s that Nightwing did seek him out and sought his power. When Nightwing had learned all he could learn, he ripped out the poor fools' throat. After all, he couldn't let it get around that he had been practicing magic, for fear that it might bring his death upon him.

Nightwing 3 Chapter 3

If you are looking for Nightwing 3 Chapter 3 you are coming to the right place. Nightwing is a Webnovel created by Bruce_Hickman. This lightnovel is currently ongoing. "Nightwing, I challenge you to caltamara" Hawk called out from behind his evil brother, "Who dares to challenge me to a battle to the death?" Nightwing asked in surprised tones.

"It is I, your brother Hawk, who challenges you to such a battle." Nightwing turned around and hovered for a minute staring at Hawk, as though he were trying to get a full measure of his brother and for no apparent reason started laughing a humorous joke that only he understood.

"You are no more than a boy and would surely die, but if you wish to, then I accept your challenge although killing you would bring me no pleasure" Nightwing responded. Hawk knew that Nightwing was more than able to kill him without breaking a sweat. That is why he would have to use all that the Traveler had taught him as well as a few tricks of his own to defeat, or even just survive this encounter with Nightwing. The two called upon the mystical weapons of battle, which seemed to appear out of thin air and prepared for a fight to the death.

Suddenly a being of immense size and strength soared down on the two as the battle ensued and interrupted the caltamara, preventing the two warriors from continuing the battle.

"Who dares to interrupt caltamara?" Nightwing calls out.

"I dare to interrupt your battle, and if you think you are strong enough to do anything about it then be my guest and try" the stranger called.

Hawk looked up and saw a familiar face. He cried out "No! Jovan stop, he will rip you to shreds. He has the caltamara saber. There is no way you could defeat him."

"That may be true boy, but at least he will not kill you" Jovan said.

"But we have already engaged in caltamara. We must fight to the death" Hawk called out.

"You may have already engaged in caltamara, but I have challenged Nightwing to a test as well as caltamara. You know as well as I that one can only kill in the name of caltamara once in their entire life. If he kills me then he cannot finish his battle with you for we are not allowed to kill each other in cold blood, only in battle. With his right to caltamara extinguished, he will not be able to kill you when next you meet in caltamara. He must either be killed or surrender on his own life into your hands at which point you could kill him easily" Jovan explained to Hawk.

"Now go boy and find the one who is destined to stand by your side in battle and be your equal on the throne. When you recover the book from our mother, she is to be your queen and you are to be her king but you will both rule equally, in the end of all that is to be in this life and this world of ours." Hawk flew off to find his queen and fulfill his destiny as the controller of The Book of Vampirics. Once the book was in his hand, he would have to fight to keep is safe from those who would seek to steal the book for their own evil ends. He knew that he would not be alone in this fight, his queen would stand by his side in his times of battle. Together, they would defeat any foe that might try to steal the book.

Far off to the east, a new evil was at work. A lady Vampiric that was more powerful and even more evil and vile than the dreaded Nightwing himself. She was not as the lady Vampiress nor was she as the male Vampiric, she was as two in one. She had the beauty of the female and the blood l.u.s.t of the male. She had a need for blood everyday but the ability to consume human foods as well. She need not sleep like all Vampirics though if she choose to, she had the ability to do something that none of the Vampirics had ever been able to do. Her wings were black and leathery. Her hair was jet black. Her skin was tan rather than the gold of the female or the black of the male.

Her skin, though different than the others, was still tough as leather but as soft as silk to the touch. She had talons as strong as any one of the males and reflexes faster than any creature alive. She felt no remorse and has no care about anyone or anything. She was a pure and total killer. The perfect hunter, a creature that need not think, only react. She could defeat anything on land or in the air. With a little thought to her action, she would be unstoppable.

Nightwing was concerned about Hawk teaming up with another Vampiric to stop him, for it was true that he killed Jovan and now he could not kill Hawk if he was challenged to caltamara again. Even though Hawk was a basically kind person, if he had to kill Nightwing, then he would not hesitate to do so. If Nightwing could catch him off guard and kill him that way, then he would not have to worry about the restraints of the rules of caltamara, where if he was lucky he might escape with his own life. His only hope could be that Hawk chooses to spare his life but he knows that even if his brother lets him live, he would never be able to reach his goal and rule the world. His only choice was to destroy Hawk and complete his plans.

Hawk traveled for many days first heading east, then southeast and finally in a southern direction, not stopping to rest. Feeding was something he could not go without but he was careful to only feed at night. He would drop his victims in wooded areas, while in flight, where they would hopefully not be found for many days. On the one day he did finally rest, he felt a strange sensation come over him. He suddenly heard a voice from behind call out to him.

"Hey you, what do you think you are doing here?"

"Who me?"

"No, your fairy G.o.dmother, yeah you."

"Well, I was looking for someone?"

"Yeah, well you found some one, didn't ya?"

"Ah, yeah, I guess I did."

"So are you just going to stand there or is there something I can help you with?"

"Well, I don't know. You see I'm looking for a very special person, a Vampiric to be exact. Perhaps you can help me find her?"

"I could if I knew what she looked like."

"Well, lets see now. She's about your height, has the wings of a male and the ferocity of a mountain lion about to make a kill. Have you seen anyone like that lately?"

"Yes and no, for you see, you are talking about me. I have the ferocity of a pack of mountain lions about ready to kill. You see it doesn't bother me to kill whoever gets in my way or just bothers me to d.a.m.ned much like your doing right now. So you better get real interesting, real fast or your going to get real dead, real soon, get the picture?"

"Yeah, I got ya."

"Good, now what's this all about?"

"It's about you and me being soul mates and destined to be king and queen of the New World. Now how does that peak your interest my dear?"

"Let's get one thing straight right now, I ain't no ones dear and second, if I were going to rule the world with anybody, why would it go with you and not one of the other Vampirics?"

"Simple, none of the other Vampirics could stand to be around you and besides that, I told you we are destined to rule together. Now what do you have to say to that?"

"I should kill you for that but I won't, not yet. I mean, after all you tell some good tales. Now why don't you start at the beginning and tell me everything. Then maybe I'll let you live." So Hawk told her the whole story starting with Nightwing's plans of killing their mother and stealing the book for his own evil desires. "And now you know the whole story and how I came to be here. So what do you say, will you join me in my battle against Nightwing?" Hawk asked.

"Sure, why not. I am not doing anything special. So where do we go from here?"

"We need to find Nightwing and fast, but to do that, we are going to have to turn four days travel into two so that we aren't too late."

"And just how do you plan to do that?"

"Simple, I'm going to teach you the basics of inter-dimensional travel, the fastest way to get where you're going."

"Inter-dimensional travel? What are you talking about? That's impossible. We can't do that."

"Oh yes we can, watch" Hawk closed his eyes and concentrated for a second, allowing himself to shift to another plane of existence where he could travel at speeds faster than light. He came out of the planer shift behind her and startled her when he shifted back.

"How did you, what did you do?"

"I shifted out of this plane and into another allowing me to travel at a higher rate of speed. So rather than having to go around objects, I merely pa.s.s through them. Now do you believe me?"

"OK, sure, why not. How do you do it?" Hawk explained to her how to shift back and forth between the places and with a little practice, she was able to shift in and out and hold it for extended periods of time. With the shifting, they were able to make up for lost time and managed to get within hours of Nightwing's position.

"Why are we stopping, why not face him now?"

"Because he would surely kill the both of us if we were to confront him now and challenge him to any sort of battle. We must prepare for the battle to come so that we can defeat him without any problems."

"You know I really don't like you and I'm planning on killing you the first chance I get after we have defeated Nightwing!"

"If you're going to kill me, than why tell me about it?"

"Simple, I merely want to give you the same chance that I give everyone else. The chance to escape when the moment is right. Of course, none have ever gotten away and I don't intend to let you be the first."

"Well then, if I am going to die anyway then at least let me have the pleasure of knowing my killers' name."

"Yes, I suppose you do deserve that much. They call me Alexandra, but you can call me Alex."

"Well Alex, they call me Hawk, nice to have finally gotten to know your name."

"Well Hawk, shall we prepare for battle so that we can finish our business as soon as possible?"

"Yes, that would be best" and with that the two Vampirics began their preparations for the on coming battle.

In another part of the world a different kind of battle was going on, one not of strength or skill but a battle of wits that could change the whole course of things to come. This was, by chance, the most unique of all battles due to the fact that the warriors were not of the flesh but rather of the spirit. Heavenly warriors and demons of the pits of h.e.l.l, battling for the chance to change things to their liking and hopefully change the fate of the world.

"Tell me something Anecetus, why did you take a demon lover in the first place? I mean with your beauty, you could of had any man you wanted" Angel inquired.

"Well, it's quite simple. Like you said, I could of had any man I wanted and so I did, only difference is that the man I chose turned out to be a demon from the ninth level of h.e.l.l. To tell the truth, he was better than any man I had ever met. He at least treated me with dignity and kindness, very uncommon for a demon but who's to say?" She replied.

"So that's why you took a demon for a lover because he was kind to you?"

"Well yes, I suppose that is the reason after all, but why do you ask?"

"I just wanted to know. I mean I am protecting you from the demon. After all, if it wasn't for the spell, you wouldn't be here and I wouldn't be your guardian now, then would I?"

"There is truth in what you say and that can not be denied. After all it was my own greed and blood l.u.s.t that got us into this mess in the first place."

"No need to worry about whose to blame now. We have to get moving again. It is going to be dark soon and I want to be as far away from here as we can in the few hours of daylight that we have left."

"Agreed, let us be going." The two of them packed up their few belongings and took to the road before them, a road that would undoubtedly lead them into even more trouble, possibly another band of thieves, maybe even Nightwing himself. They both hoped that that would not be the case. They would not have any trouble if luck was on their side this time but all they could do was hope and pray for the best.

Alexandra and Hawk met up with Jessabelle and the others while looking for Nightwing. They brought each other up to date on the current status of the situation with Nightwing.

"Well, it's good to know that if you challenge him to caltamara, he will not be able to kill you but unfortunately, if he gets the chance to wound you, he could make it serious enough to cause death" Jessabelle pointed out after they updated each other.

"But I thought he couldn't kill another Vampiric in caltamara after he had already vanquished one foe?" Hawk questioned.

Soltaker responded, "That is true. He cannot kill directly but if an enemy dies from his wounds, he cannot be held directly responsible. You see, he can wound you badly enough that the healing powers that come with being a Vampiric, would not be enough to save your life I'm afraid, so you must be careful when you face him again."

"Agreed. Next time I go against my brother, I will be more level headed and try to keep my wits about me rather than going into the battle half c.o.c.ked and bull headed." With Nightwing having already killed one in a battle to the death, Hawk and the others were hopeful that he would try to avoid any further confrontation with his enemies. They hoped he would rather try to avoid them at all costs so that he can complete his mission before it is to late. Yet at the same time, Anecetus and Angel are trying to keep as far away from Nightwing as possible, until the time is right for the two of them to hand over the book and witness the new world as it is recreated in the vision of Hawk. G.o.d only knows what he will change and what he let remain the same in the New World.

Enter a new place. A place of darkness and evil a place where men and women with the darkest intents lie. Where evil lurks like a tiger waiting to pounce on the next poor fool that dare pa.s.ses this way. It is here that we find our newest and fore most deadly allies. They are known as Dragonites. They are not evil nor are they good but with the prospect of money, they will go either way as long as the price is right and the money is good. They know that if they are double-crossed, they can rip the throats out of any who oppose them. Now they have a special mission, one that would bring them more money than they could spend in two lifetimes, which to them meant they wouldn't have to take a job for the next three hundred years. That was music to their ears.

The Dragonites are not like most mercenaries. Not because they are Vampirics but because they have no real morals or convictions about who they kill. That is what makes them the perfect mercenary team.

"Well gentlemen, it would appear that our contact is either running late or has gotten cold feet" one of the mercenaries said to those around him.

"It would seem so and if that is the case then we won't be celebrating tonight but rather out hunting."

"Agreed, but my brother, if we must hunt then I fear that many will not survive this night. So let us hope that he shows." The five mercs agreed to this and vowed to hunt the one who set them up for a meeting that never happened.

A few minutes later, the door to the old tavern opened and a tall cloaked figure walked in with his face hidden, deep within a cowl, hiding his features from those in the common room of the tavern. He walked over to the bar keep and spoke in low hushed tones so that none could hear but the bar keep. The bar keep stood there for a moment and said nothing, just staring at the stranger with discontent. This only seemed to anger him. He reached out and grabbed the bar keep by the front of his tunic. All those around could see the inch long talons that ripped through his tunic and threatened to rip through him if he didn't answer correctly.

After a few seconds the bar keep pointed to the door in the back of the common room and that seemed to please the stranger. He stepped back and tossed two gold coins to the bar keep and headed towards the back of the common room, through the door into a large room that had only one table with five very large and rough looking men. They looked up at the sound of the creaking door.

"Well gentlemen, I think we have some business to attend to, so lets get right down to it, shall we?"

"Yes indeed but you should know something. We don't deal with people we don't know."

"Well then, let me introduce myself. My name is Hawk Draconis. I am the one who hired you and like you, I like to know who I'm dealing with."

"I am known as Shakar Dela, and these are my brothers Panthera, Samara, Teha and Donovan, Now that you know who we are, you should know that if you ever decide to double cross us, we will hunt you down and kill you.

"Fair enough. Now then, let's get down to business, shall we." As they discussed their business, little did they know that they were being spied upon by a very crafty young vampire. He felt if he could stop these men from preventing his father from reaching his goal and ruling the world, his father would be proud of him.

"Well then, it would appear that the only thing left is the discussion of our fee" Shakar off handily mentioned as they finished up their discussion and plans.

"Yes, your fee. Now as I understand, you require at least three hundred gold bars for this little mission. That is no problem but let me make just one thing clear. I will not only pay your fee up front but if you succeed, I will pay you each an additional one thousand gold bars and three hundred pieces of silver. If you should fail, then I will not hesitate in systematically destroying every one of you. Are we clear on this?" Hawk could tell that his point had been made and he knew that he wouldn't have to worry about any of them running off on him or trying to double cross him. The six men finished their business and got up to leave when the door was kicked in by the local guard.

"Halt! Your all under arrest for conspiracy" stated what appeared to be the captain of the men before them.

"What do you think you are trying to arrest us? We have committed no crime." Hawk replied.

"We are the enforcers of the laws of this town and this illegal gathering has been deemed a conspiracy by the local magistrate. He has ordered your arrest" the captain said.

"Well then, since this has been deemed an illegal gathering and your magistrate has deemed that we are in a conspiracy, I suppose there is only one thing left to do" Hawk said to the others with a sly smile. He turned to the captain and his men giving them a toothy smile, making sure to expose his fangs without looking threatening.

"Good, then your going to come quietly and we won't have any trouble" the captain said in tones of joy that sent floods of pure rage through the other Vampirics.

"Actually" Hawk said "we hadn't planned on going anywhere with you."

"What do you mean?" The captain asked with a worried tone as Hawk and the others smiled an almost evil smile. In the next few seconds the captains question was answered as he and the men in his contingent were ripped to pieces. The only two survivors were the youngest men who coward in their tracks. The two men were sent on their way with a message for the local magistrate.

After the men had cleaned up and paid for the damages, they headed off in their separate ways, each with his own plans and missions. They all knew that the time to converge was not far away and even though they could be a thousand miles apart, they would all know when the time was right. Hawk and Jovan flew off to the east in search of more help for the ensuing the battle to come but what they found was more shocking than either of them had ever expected. They came across a Vampiric unlike any Vampiric they had ever seen. She was smaller with a height of only five seven but all the exquisite beauty of the Vampiric race. Even though she was smaller, it gave her an advantage that none of the others has, for her smaller size made others under estimate her. That was their down fall in battle against her, which is what made her such a formidable opponent in a fight.
